An Irish George I giltwood side chair, with a cartouche-shaped padded back and bowed seat, on cabriole legs headed by scrolled upper angles with acanthus-carved recess tops, the legs with a flowered trail within strapwork on leaf-carved pad feet. The original pair of chairs is in the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Getty, San Francisco.
